Abstract: as is known, the flu can spread very quickly as epidemics and pandemics. Periodicity of epidemics related to the frequent native changes in the antigenic structure of the virus. In Russia the incidence of influenza and SARS in 2011 are 20-30% lower compared with 2009 and 2010 with H1N1 as predominant strain. It is well recognized that the only vaccination is effective way to prevent the flu. However, at present time in Russia coverage of vaccination against flu even though it has a tendency to increase, but remains at a level that is unable to have a significant impact on the epidemic process. Meanwhile, recent researches proved the importance of creating an «immune stratum» to reduce the overall incidence in groups. Vaccines of last generation are more acceptable because they have the best profile of efficacy and safety. Thus, in clinical trials of an inactivated polymer-subunit IV generation vaccine «Grippol plus» with the participation of different populations its high degree of safety and anti-epidemic effectiveness have been convincingly demonstrated.
